St. Jude Shrine of the West
Emmet L. Farrell, Pastor
On March 5, 1992, Mother Teresa opened a contemplative house of prayer adjacent to St. Jude Shrine of the West. We were honored to have Mother Teresa attend Mass at St. Jude's Shrine on Sunday, June 9th, 1996. It was a significant event in the life of our community and something we will never forget. A granite stone was placed on the outdoor monument of St. Jude in honor of her visit.
The whole of Mother Teresa's life and labor of love bore witness to the joy of loving, the greatness and dignity of every human person, the value of little things done faithfully and with love, and the surpassing worth of friendship with God.
We are grateful and blessed to have the Missionaries of Charity in the community of St. Jude's to carry on the work of Mother Teresa.
The Sisters have daily adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in their Chapel at 3877 Boston Ave, which is open for everyone to attend, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30am-6:00pm and daily with Vespers and Rosary at 5:00pm, Wednesdays & Sundays at 6:00pm and Fridays in silence.
He is love, He is mercy, he is healer of body and soul. You may join also St. Jude's Parish for adoration and silent prayers on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11:00am-5:00pm in the church.
